DCT 2018 Recap- Day 1

Mathias Torp
PPI Editor

The first day of scheduled activity took place yesterday with the first-arrivers, including the Paderborn Dolphins delegation which was delayed due to an airplane malfunction but finally made it to New Jersey after a 30-hour trip.

The New York Giants hosted the group as former Giant and Super Bowl-winner Brandon London treated the prospects to a practice visit, followed up by a private workout with Brian Martin, owner of BMartin Football Academy.  Brian has worked with over 200 NFL players during the past 25 years, such as Joe Flacco, Patrick Peterson, Damon Harrison, and Ryan Clady.

“It was a pleasure to work with the PPI group. All of the athletes are very well coached, respectful, and have very bright futures. They all have great size, speed, and very good hips and fluidity for big guys. Coach Brandon Collier does an amazing job with this program and I am honored to work with this group.”

Today started with players having an unofficial visit with the University of Rutgers. Afterwards the offensive linemen had a chance to eat breakfast with Rutgers OL Coach AJ Blazek as well as attend the OL meeting later.  Rutgers is familiar with Europe’s football talent as they already boast two Swedes on their roster including former PPI DreamChaser, Robin Jutwreten.

The Rutgers camp this afternoon will be the DCT 2018 prospects’ first, as they will look to make a mark early on. Needless to say, Rutgers has been anticipating their arrival as well.
